This learning environment I created for CSE 684 houses the web tutorials I created for my topic, variables in science. The site targets fifth grade students and is intended to be used in a face-to-face classroom using iPads. In order to present the information in a web tutorial, I used a variety of new technologies to create the visuals in the presentation and to record and edit my lesson. I also created the website using Wix.com and embedded videos by uploading them onto Youtube and retrieving the HTML code.

This is a sample classroom website that I would like to use in my own classroom. Having a classroom website would allow me to communicate with students and parents by informing them about upcoming projects and events. It would also be a place for me to house my created tutorials for homework help. The website includes has a place for students to post their finished writing projects, a reader's theater for student created podcasts, and a page for great online learning resources.

This module was created using Udutu and targets fifth grade focusing on living systems. In order to introduce student and parents to the Living Systems module I created a webpage with instructions for how to navigate the course. On the same page I also created and embedded a screencast that walks parents and students through the different pages and resources of the module.

This video I created using Fair Use Guidelines, introduces and outlines for students their research project on an ancient civilization's explanation for the Moon and its changing appearance. Students are asked to think of what life would be like during a time when there were no city lights, before modern science, and imagine what they would think of the Moon glowing in the night-sky. The video was created with Creative Commons images, clips from YouTube videos, and edited using Microsoft Movie Maker, Jing, and Camtasia.
